Types of Customization in Enclosures

Holes and cutouts in electrical enclosures need special tooling and fixtures for accuracy and clean production finish. We have a dedicated team working on custom electrical enclosure modifications — cutouts for cable glands, switches, toggles, indicators, sockets, and display windows are all possible. We get the requirement from the customer via CAD drawings, 2D layouts, physical samples, or concepts, make a sample cut for approval, then proceed to bulk production.

Customization in Base

Base cutouts in electrical enclosures are used for cable gland entries, conduit fittings, and mounting stud positions. Precise hole placement in the base is critical for clean IP67 sealing — a misaligned gland hole affects the waterproof integrity. We work from customer-supplied drawings or physical layouts to position and cut base holes with the accuracy needed for correct gland sealing and cable routing.

Customization in Lid

Lid cutouts on electrical enclosures are used for indicator lamps, toggle switches, push buttons, display windows, and meter viewing panels. The lid is the most visible face of the enclosure — cutout accuracy here directly affects the finished appearance and function of the panel. We machine lid cutouts to tight tolerances and verify fitment against customer components before proceeding to bulk supply.

Customization in Mounting Plates

Custom mounting plates are fabricated to fix DIN rails, MCBs, terminal blocks, or sub-assemblies inside the enclosure at the correct height and spacing. Plate design is based on the customer’s electrical layout — number of MCB poles, DIN rail spacing, terminal count, and cable entry clearance are all considered. We design and manufacture mounting plates in-house for precise fitment with the enclosure body.

Addon parts

Addon parts include pole mounting clamps, wall mounting brackets, air vents, locks, and specialized cable gland plates that are fitted to the standard enclosure body. These parts are designed to match the enclosure dimensions and can be supplied pre-fitted or as separate accessories. For large volume requirements, customer-specific addon components can be developed and supplied along with the enclosure.

Custom 140x190x100mm ABS opaque enclosure with a precision rectangular cutout on the top lid sized for a standard 96x24mm LCD display panel. The cutout was machined to exact dimensions for flush fitment of the LCD module without any gap or misalignment. Side holes added for cable gland entries. Customer drawing approved on sample before bulk production.

Custom 210x190x100mm ABS opaque enclosure with two lid cutouts — a large round hole for a plug socket mounting and a rectangular cutout for an MCB panel opening. Both cutouts positioned on the top lid face based on customer layout drawing. Side holes added for cable entries. Sample verified for socket and MCB fitment before proceeding to bulk supply.

Custom 400x300x150mm ABS opaque enclosure with multiple cutouts on the top lid for LED indicators and panel meters — a combination of round holes for indicator lamps and rectangular openings for meter windows arranged across the 400x300mm lid face. Cutout positions and sizes supplied by customer based on their panel layout drawing. All edges finished cleanly and sample approved before bulk production.

Custom 560x380x180mm ABS opaque enclosure — largest in the range — with multiple cable gland holes drilled across the base for high current incoming and outgoing cable entries. The 560x380mm base area allowed a large number of gland positions to be laid out without crowding. Gland hole sizes and positions supplied by customer. Stainless steel wall mount clamps supplied for panel installation.

How we deal with Custom Enclosures

We believe that any kind of customization is not successful until a set of system is established. We have made a very easy, realiable and fast system that avoids more interaction and easy to use for our customized electrical enclosures. Customer can download our predefined autocad drawings which indicate available space for holes and cutouts. Customer can make changes in the same drawing and send us for the review. We make a proto or sample and take approval. Refer below the full detailed system we follow.

Receive Data From Customers

We receive inputs from our customers via variety of forms, Most of them are via Cad models, Via 2d drawings, Physical parts or via sketches or concepts. For new development, we directly work on any ideas from scratch with our customers.

Prepare 3D Assembly and Drawings

After receiving input from customer, Our team prepares either 3D model or 2D drawings based n part geometry and criticality. We use parametric 3d softwares to maintain the accuracy of the components with respect to mountin gin our electrical enclosures.

Sample Cutting – Prototype

Once model and drawings are prepared, we dont go in production directly for critical drawings. We make sample cutting in our CNC machines and verify the cutting geometry with the drawings or models.
