Mounting the junction box in a ceiling or above your work area also allows flexibility in positioning the box to optimize the cable entrance angles. The mounting holes on these junction boxes have been drilled and aligned with the most common configurations, so it will be easy to retrofit existing boxes to match. The junction boxes have removable mounting ears that will allow for flush mounting. Internal mounting points for terminal strips or other components are included in the junction box design. To seal the cable entry, a sealing gasket maintains the IP rating of the box until the final assembly. As an example, improper mounting techniques will affect the long-term reliability of a junction box. Inspect the condition of the cable glands and the cleanliness of the sealing gaskets at the time of final assembly to ensure proper functioning once installed.
